EU CE-RED directive certification

hits:535    Date:2017/11/27

The EU officially unveiled the new wireless device directive, RED 2014/53/ EU, which was prepared by the EU's new CE framework resolution 768/2008/ EC, and RED 2014/53/EU replaces the original EU wireless equipment directive, r&tte-d 1999/5/ EC.

Since the new official directive and effective, have two years of transition time, since June 13, 2016, the original R&TTE directive 1999/5 / EC will be abolished, and according to the old instruction evaluation of products can continue to sell to June 13, 2017. After June 13, 2017, the EU market will only allow the sale of wireless equipment in accordance with the new RED 2014/53/EU assessment.

The purpose of the new directive

1. Clear spectrum use range

2. Improve the effectiveness of spectrum use

3. Facilitate the implementation of regulations and market monitoring among member states.

Before wireless products can be sold legally in eu countries, they must be approved for testing on RED orders, and they must also have ce-mark. Wireless remote control products must comply with RED directive RED 2014/53/EU requirements.

Significant differences between the new wireless device directive (RED) and old R&TTE instructions are:

1. RED products only include wireless communication and wireless recognition devices (such as RFID, radar, mobile detection, etc.). The rf devices are not used for communication or recognition in the control of EMC commands and low-voltage LVD instructions;

2. The cable terminal equipment (TTE) was removed, so the RED directive was used only for wireless products;

3. The radio broadcast receiver is now in the range of RED instruction (previously covered in EMC instructions and low-voltage LVD instructions);

4. The limit of command coverage frequency has been cancelled (the initial frequency of control of R&TTE was 9 kHz), and the upper limit is still 3000 GHz.

5. The evaluation opinions of the bulletin board have been replaced by the "type inspection certificate";

6. Only after the quality system has been evaluated by the company's quality system, the manufacturer can use the CE mark (complete quality assurance -- type H) with the announcement mechanism number.

7. The requirements of the type ii equipment to be circulars to national spectrum institutions are no longer required;

8. The identification of secondary devices (warning signs) is no longer needed, but warnings that are restricted in some countries still need to be found in product packaging;

9. There is no need to show the CE mark in the user's manual. However, the frequency and transmitting power of radio frequency should be indicated in the manual.

10. The suite of personal assessment is no longer under control (i.e. no RED certification is required);

11. The new directive requires the use of a uniform charger;

12. The address and contact information of the manufacturer and importer must appear on the device, and when the device is too small, it can appear in the user manual.

According to the new eu framework resolution 768/2008/ EC, RED directive also provides clear rules for manufacturers, importers, distributors and representatives of the eu. The name and addressable address of the manufacturer and importer must be identified on the product or on the accompanying specification.

RED test project

1. Electromagnetic compatibility test (EMC test)

2. Safety regulation test LVD (in the new instruction, RF products of battery input are also required to carry out this test)

3. Radiocommunication equipment test (RF test) according to the European ETSI standard

4. Information circulars (Notification) allowed in Europe

5. CTR(TBR) test

6. Electrical safety and health protection test (SAR assessment)

RED needs to provide information

1. User manual

2. Circuit schematic diagram

3. Block Diagram (also called module function Diagram)

4. Circuit diagram (PCB LAYOUT)

5. Circuit bitmap (PCB placement)

6. Operation description (interpretation of block diagram)

7. LIST of components (BOM LIST)

8. The label (tag)

9. Antenna specification (or antenna gain diagram)

10. Charger LVD report

11. Fixed frequency software (also known as fixed-frequency program). The launch module can be continuously launched at a certain frequency point, and the general BT and WIFI must be provided.
